A Busy Summer It Was

We have had another great, and incredibly busy summer! We were able to spend time in Texas, Minnesota, and Michigan as well as take trips to the Boydston Farm. This summer we were able to reconnect with friends and family. School is in session now, and Halle is a first grader at Bergman Elementary. She attends school all-day long and eats lunch in the school cafeteria. Jonathan started morning preschool at K-State's Stone House Early Childhood Laboratory. Both kids love school.

Jon Jon Turns 3

Jonathan's third birthday is today, and we celebrated last night with a trip to Gymnastics Plus for tumbling, jumping, and running around. Jonathan had several little friends enjoy his Construction birthday party themed evening: Reece Carson (he calls Jonathan 'Jon Jon'), Ava Widman, Luke and Elle DeWeese, Jill and Alec Fehr, John and James Prince, cousins Kaeli and Cassie Wefald, and sis Halle.

We were so excited to tell Jonathan 'Happy Birthday' when he woke up this morning. All groggy, he said "It's not my birthday again." We told him it was, but he wasn't too convinced. He spent today at the park with friends and had his three-year old check up wth Dr. Gallagher. Jonathan is in the 90th percentile for weight and 60th percentile for height. Jonathan spent this evening playing with a new box turtle the Churchill Street kids found at Colbert Hills.

Jonathan got several new outdoor water toys for his birthday and some new swords. Life is good for this little guy.

The End of the Beginning

Today was Halle's last day of kindergarten at Bergman Elementary. It was such a fun day for her, and she is ready to take some time off and hit the pool. She has a lot of activities scheduled for the summer - the first is playing t-ball on the Orioles t-ball team. Skipp and I are so proud of Halle. Kindergarten taught Halle to have more confidence in herself and get to know new faces. She did not know anyone in her class this year and made some really great friends. Halle also had perfect attendance.

Jonathan and I are both glad Halle will be home with us this summer. He, too, is ready for pool time.
